Fall is in full swing. Leaves are changing colors, and we’re adjusting our wardrobes to match with the brisk early morning temperatures. It’s my favorite season for the obvious reason that we can wear layers upon layers of comfy sweaters and cardigans, and our favorite bold, dark red lip is no longer out of season. While summer is all about bright pops of color, fall is more about a dark, grungy look, which is exactly what made me fall in love with this Fashionista’s outfit the second I spotted her.
She is wearing flowy, forest green trouser pants, which she pairs with a loose, linen button-up shirt. Together, the textures and contrasting colors work to create a casual but eye-catching look. To complete her ensemble and to ensure she does not freeze when the icy fall breeze hits campus, she adds a thick, knitted cream colored cardigan. It adds another layer to her look and makes it super fall appropriate.
I think her color choice in this look could not have been more perfect. But that’s because I’m a huge fan of pairing neutral colored tops with forest green bottoms. It’s my favorite color combination, and you’re able to play around a bit more with your shoe choice and makeup. This Fashionista chose to rock a pair of black, low-top Dr. Martens, adding just the right amount of edge. She completed her look with a swipe of that deep red lipstick that is a must-have for this fall.
One Simple Change: If you’re unsure about what to wear to the library when studying for a midterm that’s coming up, look no further than this Fashionista’s look. All it takes is a swap of the shoe. Pair the pants and top combo with some simple and easy to wear flats. They may be a bit more comfortable than Dr. Martens and can easily be slipped off if you want to be uber comfortable while cramming for that math exam.
