WHAT TO WEAR: Falling Into Winter

This fall season we have seen the resurrection of velvet everything, statement furs and thigh-high boots. Every year New York Fashion Week blesses the fashion obsessed with the upcoming styles and trends for the season and gives us all a look into what we should add to our closets next. Thanks to designers like Altuzarra, kate spade new york and Lacoste, classic aviator-styled shearling jackets made a come back during New York Fashion Week this past year. These designers brought their incredible creations to the runway and opened up a new door for fall and winter style.

Shearling jackets were all over the runway, but the most exciting part is that they debuted in a variety of colors and cuts. You can stay classic in brown or black leather, or you can shake up the streets in cropped or high-low cuts. This is not only giving us creative freedom into our own interpretations of style but it is also serving as a wonderful addition into each of our closets as we transition from fall to winter.

This Fashionista makes every day her own personal runway. This junior at Duquesne University studying integrated marketing communication gives off some major aviator vibes with her classic, black leather shearling jacket and Ray-Ban sunglasses. Keeping it simple, she slipped into her trusty American Eagle Outfitters jeans and threw on a basic black T-shirt for another busy day of classes on campus. Staying true to her style she is able to not only be trendy, but also comfortable as she takes on the day. With the Pittsburgh weather rapidly changing and the edges of winter appearing before us, this Fashionista is able to stay warm and transition into colder days.

As any Duquesne University student knows, the wind on our campus can be brutal. The low temperatures drop even lower with the softest gush of wind. The addition of an oversized blanket scarf will not only save you from freezing on your way to class, but it will keep you warm, fashionable and ready to fall into winter!
