You’ve spent days memorizing flashcards, having panic attacks about your future and stress eating. At last, it’s finals week and all you want to do is get home. At this point you don’t even care what grade you get on your exams, you just want to have nothing to do with these classes anymore (happens every time). We pull all-nighters the night before our exams, and the last thing we are thinking about is putting on a cute outfit to take our test in. Nobody is looking at what you’re wearing anyways, right?
I am about to offer you a new perspective. By the end of this article, I hope you will re-consider wearing exercise clothes to your exams and instead wear something much cuter.
I went to a private high school where we had a strict dress code we had to follow every day. Contrary to popular belief, there was a reason for these guidelines. Administrators knew that if we wore pajamas to school every day, we would be less awake, less focused and less attentive. Think about it: What is the first thing we do when we come home from a long day of work or school? We put on comfy clothes. Why? Because it tells our brain that it is time to relax and time to get cozy. We naturally want to do less when we are in our pajamas; It is part of our culture. Instead, if we wear a cute outfit we put together, we feel more awake, more prepared for the day and more confident.
This Fashionista is wearing an outfit that is perfect for taking an exam. Her flowy top is bright and springy but loose enough to hide any of that tummy that comes out from stress eating (I know this feeling all too well). Her jeans provide structure and tell her brain it is time to be productive. Heeled booties give her the confidence boost that she needs as she walks to her classroom to take her exam. She can do this!
One Simple Change: Swap the booties for a pair of strappy sandals to make this look more comfortable for walking around on the weekend!
