Finals week on the UCLA campus is pretty much a distant memory at this point, one clouded by the shenanigans of spring break and the excitement that only sunny spring quarter days can bring. But just as this quarter, and the wonderful weather it brought us, descended, it will be over quicker than we may think. So as we gear up to finish off another quarter strong and dream of the summertime adventures that await, we shouldn’t forget this fateful time of year which leaves most students stressed, depressed and not even well dressed.
But fear not Bruins, there are a few simple tricks to survive finals week and come out looking just as stylish as you are studious. Whenever I think of the intense studying that inevitably goes along with this time of year the things that come to mind in terms of clothing are those basic wardrobe staples that define my personal style. While these are different for everyone, I like the way that this Fashionista’s finals week uniform can be generally translated to most any wardrobe out there. Her outfit is comprised of basic items like slouchy distressed jeans, a knit sweater, lace-up shoes and a simple leather tote bag that totally encapsulates her personal style.
One Simple Change: Easily transition this look from spending (seemingly) endless hours holed up at the library to making that big presentation in your class’ finals period. It can be as simple as swapping the chunky knit sweater for a sleek black blazer. The professional jacket will pair well with the oxford shoes to offset the jeans in a funky way. What better way to end the quarter than with an outfit that oozes with sophistication and confidence?
