For always falling so close to Christmas, finals week really knows how to put a damper on the mental health of college students everywhere. But it doesn’t stop there: final exams often dull the wardrobes of even the most fashionable students. I will admit I have fallen into the trap of that famous finals week, “I woke up like this” look once or twice, but, “Look good, feel good, do good” proves to be the vibe I’d rather aim toward. The bonus of the latter is that it applies to everyday life — not just finals week.
Take it from this Fashionista when she says it’s easy to be comfortable while still looking 100 percent put together. In a less globally warmed world, one would not be able to wear such an outfit during December in Michigan. However, the consistent 45 to 60 degree weather allows for a casual, lightweight jacket, copper booties and a perfect mixture of earth tones. If you’re like me, you’ll take inspiration from this outfit but, sadly, remove all the gorgeous colors. The simple T-shirt and jeans provide a great base to turn this outfit into one filled with neutral colors if that’s the vibe you prefer.
One Simple Change: Being that it is finals week, there are desks in the library calling our names at all hours of the day. Whether you end up trekking over to one or studying in your dorm room, be sure to keep a long, chunky cardigan on hand to swap with the military jacket for something cozier.
