Hey guys! Now that February has rolled around, I think most of us have become pretty tired with our winter wardrobes, and I for one am very ready for the new spring tends. However, there is still a little bit of winter left, and what better way to gain fashion inspiration than looking at the style of those around you?
The campus at the University of Amsterdam can be pretty cold and damp, and I think this this Fashionista dressed perfectly for a chilly, gray day of classes. What I love about this look is how this Fashionista utilizes layering to add interest to her outfit. The floral slip dress looks appropriately wintery with the knit sweater thrown over top.
When it comes to the winter season, I find myself leaning more toward dark florals than light ones. A dark floral print is especially nice here, as it ties in with the black tights and the black, lace-up boots. Black ankle boots are a wardrobe staple at this point, and this season a lace-up version of the boot has surged in popularity. They are an incredibly versatile style of shoe, and in this instance they add a casual and eclectic touch to the outfit. Also, flat boots can be a blessing for days of stomping around campus–a fact always good to keep in mind.
Finally, this Fashionista is wearing one of the hero items of this past season, a shearling coat. Shearling coats are amazing. They are incredibly warm and incredibly practical for colder days. Fun fact: this Fashionista’s coat is from her grandmother! How cute! Altogether, the outfit works to present a chic, creative, and practical outfit perfect for a day of classes. Let me know what you think of this Fashionista’s outfit, and I hope it inspires you like it did me!
