Whenever the calendar hits December, I’m always the one to blast Christmas music. There is just something about the entire month of December that captivates my heart and gets me in the holiday spirit. Whether I’m sipping on hot chocolate by the fire or watching the snow flurries fall from the comfort of my bedroom, I can’t help but smile at the thought of the holidays and spending time with loved ones.
There is something about winter fashion that screams chic. Throughout the fall 2016 fashion weeks there were countless looks that left me breathless, but one of my favorite styles to hit the runway were the après ski-inspired sweaters and the resurrection of the turtleneck came out on top. Amongst the many designers who debuted the oversized sweater, Balenciaga and Alexander Wang did it best with their comfy, warm styles. I’ll be the first to say that not many styles can be transferred from the runway to the streets but the après ski sweater is by far the easiest and most comfortable to pull off daily. After all, theres nothing better than comfortable style, right?
This Fashionista is staying comfy and warm despite the freezing temperatures. From head to toe, there is an effortless essence to her outfit of choice that I found to be perfect for the holidays. She wore an oversized poncho sweater from LOFT with details that are absolutely to die for. Taking a closer look into the details of this oversized sweater you’ll notice that there are side-ties on either side. This simple touch adds a hint of interest to an otherwise plain sweater. With a statement as large as the turtleneck collar this Fashionista kept the rest of her accessories simple with a delicate ring. Personally, during the holidays I think that keeping it simple, yet classy is the way to go and that is exactly what this Fashionista achieved in her effortless look!
Her tousled curls and soft makeup are the perfect finishing touches to this holiday ready outfit. The only addition that I’d make is a pop of red lipstick and a statement clutch to make this outfit a bit more dressy depending on the event.
The holidays are a magical time of the year. While it may be busy it is always important to take a moment to appreciate the time spent with our loved ones, but don’t forget that you can do it in style and keep it haute for the holidays.
