April showers bring June showers? This week New York decided that the couple weeks of summer and warm weather were enough and it should re-awaken fall out of hibernation. With seemly endless rain and less then favorable temperatures that make us never want to leave our cozy homes again, what is a Fashionista/o supposed to do?
This Fashionista, despite the weather, still managed to look totally RAD. Instead of letting the weather get the best of her wardrobe, she made it into a fashion opportunity. Her stormy weather outfit showcases the ever so popular black Hunter rain boots. These boots were everywhere at Marist College during the spring. It is not surprising that this Fashionista styled her look around the boots which serve a functional and fashionable purpose for a rainy day. With the attention already being drawn towards the boots, adding a lose-fitting flirty floral dress, showed off her legs and kept her cool in the humidity. This dress had is super simple and comfy so to dress it up a little this Fashionista added a gold necklace. The necklace definitely adds something extra to this otherwise causal ensemble and makes it fit for just about any occasion. A rainy day outfit would not be complete without the classic rainy day accessories — an umbrella and rain jacket. To add her own personal twist, this Fashionista’s jacket has her sorority letters for Alpha Sigma Tau. The umbrella and jacket complete this rainy day look while remaining fun, functional and comfortable which is how everyone wants to look on a wet spring day.
One Simple Change: If the sun ever comes back out, exchange the boots and the rain gear out for sandals and sunglasses to make this look wearable during warm sunny weather.
