You know, one of the hardest things I encountered during my internship was, believe or not, figuring out what to wear. I did my internship up North in Boston so there was only so much I could take with me. Even though I had a total of six suitcases filled with clothes, it wasn’t nearly enough! I felt like I ran out of clothing combinations halfway through the summer.
I wish I wasn’t so scared of mixing prints at the time. I could have had many more outfit choices if I was more willing. I love how this Fashionista put her outfit together. Her outfit was both professional-looking and daring, perfect for the fashion industry.
This Fashionista made polka-dots the centerpiece of her ensemble. For pants she had on a pair of cigarette-leg white spotted trousers, in black. She topped it off with a beige-colored blouse covered with polka-dots, bigger than the ones on her pants. To complete the professional look, she threw on a black two-button blazer and some basic nude pumps. Notice how her heels are not too high, probably no more than three inches. This is great to go to work in, or a even a job interview; you will be comfortable and it doesn’t look like you’re trying too hard! She threw her hair into a slick high bun and kept her jewelry to a minimum. She has on a single-strand necklace, a couple of rings and some David Yurman bracelets.
One Simple Change: John Legend is performing in your city, so you and some girlfriends have tickets to go see his show. Y’all know I love color; switch out the nude heels for some tall, blue ankle pumps. Remove the blazer, let your hair down, and let’s see some dark violet lips! You are now all set. Have fun!
