Going to college isn’t just about taking and passing classes to graduate with a degree. It’s also the time when we are old enough to make our own decisions, but young enough not to know exactly who we are. Everything we put ourselves into helps us get closer to all of that. There are many other juniors and seniors who are like me. They’re enrolled in school full time, working a part to full time job and on the hunt for an amazing internship to fill up the summer.
We all start to realize at one point or another the importance of first impressions. (After resumes and glowing letters of recommendation, of course). The catch? It’s all done in about seven seconds, most of which is based on appearance. Therefore, it is important to dress for the part that we want, and for college students that means success! Are you ready for more than the standard coffee fetching internship? I’m raising my hand.
This Fashionista not only looks put together, but is also showing the world her personality while looking stylish to boot (literally). First off, she’s keeping it clean and simple with a black and white ensemble. She wears a cool, graphic T-shirt that’s loosely tucked into a leather skirt. Second, she adds a splash of color with bold, red ankle booties that feature mini buckle details. She then tops it all off with those hard to miss Comme des Garçons play heart and eyes peeking out from her beautiful, gray cardigan. It’s easy to take inspiration from this look and not only recreate it, but use each piece to create a host of other outfits.
One Simple Change: After all the hard work, where’s all the play? It’s easy to transition into another atmosphere, like girl’s night out, right after clocking out. Whether you’re old enough to sip an Old Fashioned or stay festive with a Shirley Temple, adding the black tights underneath the skirt keeps it looking office ready. With a little tug and pull, they come off and a quick shoe change later, you’re ready to hit the town!
