It is summertime, and thus far I have identified two distinctly different types of college students over summer break. There are the students who take these three months to truly soak up the rays, hang out by the pool and really indulge in some much needed rest and relaxation. The other category of college students over summer break include those who are staying busy with full time jobs and internships. Though both are extremely beneficial in their own ways, I decided to take the full time job and internship route, mainly because I tend to go a bit crazy when I am not overwhelmed with some sort of work. Fortunately, I spend my days with stylish co-workers such as this month’s Fashionista.
This Fashionista, who is currently working as a retail management intern in the BP and TopShop and Savvy Departments with me, never fails to arrive for her eight hour shift in a trendy outfit. On this day, this Fashionista chose simple pieces with awesome details and accessories. She is wearing a basic, oversized scoop-neck T-shirt with black denim pants and nude sandals. Sounds pretty average at first, but this Fashionista used details to amp it up a bit. She chose a long Kendra Scott necklace with a big pendant on the end to add a bit of color to the top. The pants had a fun detail of their own. Along the outside of both pant legs, there is a lace-up detail from the waist all the way down to the ankle. Lace-up detailing is very on trend right now though mainly it is found on espadrilles or on the front of tops. The lace-up detail on the side of the jeans are a subtle way to stay on trend and also stay in dress code. Finally, this Fashionista chose nude Tory Burch sandals to complete the look. These sandals are perfect for this internship, because this Fashionista can model this popular shoe that we carry in-store, but also these sandals are a sophisticated alternative to heels which might not be as comfortable for all-day wear.
One Simple Change: Throw your locks into a messy ponytail, swap the flats with a cute pair of wedges and you are ready for a girl’s night out as soon as your clock out!
