I’ll tell you what I want, what I really, really want—I want to be able to pull off a cute, sophisticated, sporty look just like this Sporty Spice of a Fashionista.
With all of the walking that is done in New York City, comfort is key for the feet. That’s coming from first-hand (or should I say foot) experience. Unless your feet have built up the stamina to strut 30 blocks in 6 inch heels, working women will throw on pair of sneakers with business attire in a heart beat! Just like this Fashionista, who is coming straight from her internship. But, what’s the difference with this outfit compared to most outfits with sneakers you see? The sneakers are actually apart of the outfit.
Athletic-wear without actually working out has become the new style when it comes to street style. It has even transitioned to everyday wear. For example, instead of wearing sneakers with pants, you can wear a cute pair of sneakers with a skirt. This Fashionista did it flawlessly pairing her grey Skechers with her LC Lauren Conrad black circle skirt that adds a perfect spice of sporty to her classic summer look. Not to mention her super cute double buns that just make you want to, “spice up your life”.
She also does a great job being able to play with the mixing and matching of aspects within her outfit. Pairing the circle skirt with the H&M blue crop top gives you that perfect summer outfit that could be dressed up or down. Then when you throw on the denim jacket from Forever 21, it gives you that chill look for those cooler summer city nights walking home. The jacket also plays off the Skechers, giving you more of a sporty look. When you put the H&M taupe handbag and Dita sunglasses, it gives this Fashionista that Upper East Side sophistication while, still being able to walk comfortably and fashionably to and from work.
One Simple Change: If skirts aren’t for you and neither are pants, no worries, pair it with some dress shorts for an even more sporty look and just in time for the weekend. An easy, breezy weekend wear outfit to accommodate you for those summer adventures because, a “too much of something” is a little too much.
