While winter is in full swing here in New England, the spring semester is well under way. Whether you are a second-semester freshman or a graduating senior, planning for the future is necessary. One of the most important parts of college (besides making lifelong friends and a few mistakes) is preparing yourself for a career. In order to land that summer internship, part-time gig or dream job, you will need to go through the process of interviewing. With that being said, how you present yourself is important and that includes not only your social skills but your outward appearance as well.
This Fashionisto was dressed to impress. He caught my eye on his way to a job interview looking classy and confident. He chose a pair of gray dress pants and paired them with a black button-down shirt and a gray V-neck sweater. His neutral color palette gave off a professional vibe while the pop of color in his tie indicated that he is confident but doesn’t take himself too seriously. He completed his outfit with a gray belt, a pair of black dress shoes and a smile.
Regardless of the job you are interviewing for, it is important to dress professionally; however, that doesn’t mean you can’t dress fashionably, too. Take a tip from this Fashionisto to nail that interview-ready look (and hopefully the interview itself). Choose a neutral color like gray, navy or black and then add a pop of color or a fun accessory that shows off your personal style. Whatever you choose to wear, wear it confidently and wear it with a smile.
One Simple Change: Did you nail your interview and land a job? Celebrate with a date night. Swap out the dress pants and shoes for a pair of light wash jeans and a bright pair of sneakers.
