Let’s face it, we all have those days where we spend hours staring at a closet full of clothes but still can’t find an outfit. On these days, many of us resort to a simple T-shirt and jeans. However, finding that perfect look can be as simple as adding a few staple pieces. Components like colorful jackets can totally reinvent your look. Every time I see this Fashionisto stroll along our campus, I immediately take note of his edgy style. I swear, every piece of his wardrobe is enviable. He seems to never have those days where you can’t find anything to wear. His secret? He swears by “adding staple pieces.” For this look, he wore a plain white T-shirt and jeans, but spiced up the entire look by adding a burgundy leather jacket. He distressed his own jeans too! Simple changes to articles of clothing you already own can truly make all the difference. Let’s not forget about his shoes. His white sneakers are so fresh for winter. I do not believe in the “rule” about not wearing white after Labor Day, that is such a myth!
The coolest part about this outfit is that I can totally see this Fashionisto sporting this look not only to class, but even a night out in the city. Staple pieces are so versatile, and that’s the best thing about them. So if you are having trouble trying to decide what to wear, throw on a staple piece, such as a colorful leather jacket, and I promise you will feel like you put 10 times more effort into your look than you actually did.
