Summer is quickly coming to an end, which for most college students, this means it’s time to get back to school. At The Art Institute of Pittsburgh, we attend school all year, including the summer. To take a break from what seems like never ending classes, we Fashionistas need to have a night out on the town. Whether it’s a girl’s night out or date night with a lucky someone, you always need to look stylish. How else can you fit in all the hottest trends of the season?
For example, the stunning cape dress, which was all over the runways last year, has finally trickled down to the main stream! Kim Kardashian and Chrissy Teigen were spotted wearing this trend from the Balmain resort 2015 collection. The cape dress is a bold statement piece. Every Fashionista has that one thing that just boosts her confidence and channels her inner Beyoncé. For me, it’s thick, black mascara and a fabulous pair of booties.
This Fashionista, who happens to be one of my good friends, is wearing a striking cape dress from Missguided. The tribal print makes such a statement that there is no need to overdo it with accessories. Also, right on trend, is the deep plunging neckline that she pulls off beautifully. A simple pair of ivory pointed toe pumps complete the look. Because the cape dress makes such a statement on its own, this Fashionista chose to wear minimal makeup and pull her hair into a low bun to help the dress stand out.
Love the cape look? Capes are still hot for fall. There are many ways to incorporate this trend into your fall wardrobe. Cape blazers are easy for dressing up or down. Pair it with some skinny jeans for a casual look, or throw it over a dress to make more of a statement. I don’t know about you, but fall is my favorite time of year. There are so many ways to transform what’s already in your closet!
