As a fashion student, I have quite a bit of freedom when it comes to dressing for presentations. I never feel like I have to wear a crisp blazer, trousers and two-inch heels to present a project. My professors understand that presentations are not the same thing as interviews and allow us to dress in things we actually want to wear. While it is important to still appear professional and not walk to the front of the class in baggy jeans and a sweatshirt, I never have to worry about being uncomfortable in an outfit that makes me feel out of my element.
Thankfully, I know plenty of professors both inside and outside of the fashion department that have a similar mindset. They know that dressing like you are going into the office from nine to five probably won’t make your presentation any better, it will just make you feel awkward. This Fashionista wore the perfect outfit to her presentation. It’s simple, shows off her style and is sure to get the nod of approval from any teacher. I am in love with this blue flowy top, a perfect transition piece into spring. She pairs it with black pants, brown studded boots and a statement necklace that really finishes off the entire outfit.
When it comes to presentations, you have enough to think about besides what you’re wearing. Pick out pieces from your closet that will make you look and feel your best. That’s when you will truly shine.
One Simple Change: Substituting the boots for a pair of black pumps makes this look perfect for a night out on the weekends!
