To begin with, I want to proudly congratulate you (and myself); we have officially made it through the winter! The climate is starting to feel #RAD and we shall get our spring groove on. Warm weather reports are an overall given for this season, and I am confident you are keeping an eye on them. Likewise, fashion forecasts are already appearing on the map. Do you know what the season’s atmosphere looks like? Whether it is to pack the perfect bag or to make a wardrobe change that is to die for, keeping up with the forecasts is crucial.
“You are better informed than passé.” Being up to date with global current events, politics, and economy is an essential tool in everyone’s life. Similarly, in order to be successful, Fashionistas are constantly glancing at what is occurring in the industry. This is precisely when forecasting comes to the picture. It can be said that fashion suffers from ADHD (Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder). This leads it to be constantly changing and heading to different directions. Luckily, forecasts and reports prepare us ahead of time for the different roads the approaching season might take.
If you do not know what spring 2017 is going to be about in the wonderfully unstable world of fashion, do not panic! Fortunately, after reading almost every forecast for the season in WGSN, WWD, Vogue, Harpers Bazaar, and Elle, I can say I have your back. Some of the top trends for the season are: head-to-toe gold and silver, men’s shirts, leather fringing, hot pinks, bizarre sleeves, and slogan shirts.
As in love as I am with all the previously mentioned trends, I cannot wear them all at once. However, I tried to bring a few of them together with this look. See those hot pink blocks? Feel free to grab the color and wear it! The gray, cropped sweater has two of the trends: the slogan/graphics and the statement sleeves. It is comfortable to wear and its particular sleeves provide an edgy touch. Moving a little to the south, the silver skirt is a must-have for the season. Because it is not completely tight, it helps your silhouette stand out. Black platform sneakers, bag ,and big mirrored sunnies finish up the look. Tip: since there is already a lot going on with sleeves and the metallic skirt, it is better to use black with the accessories. This way they will not call more attention than the outfit. This look is excellent for a spring fun day.
