The birds are chirping, the sun is shining and the grass is finally starting to turn green. Spring has sprung! When the weather starts to pick up around this time of year, it’s unbelievably difficult for me to stick to my studies. How are we supposed to study in a dusty library when the sun is shining so brightly right outside the window? The easy answer is to bring some of the spring inside with you. Wearing floral patterns in the springtime may be cliché, but it works for a reason. When the snow finally melts and the flowers begin to bloom, everyone wants to take a little bit of that with them in their clothes.
I spotted this Fashionista rocking the floral look on her way to class. She went for a muted floral pattern button-up shirt paired with some weather-appropriate gray bermuda shorts. She finished off the outfit with a pair of navy oxfords. If you’re hesitant about adding busy patterns into your wardrobe, try finding one in a neutral color. Neutrals are an easy way to introduce some pattern into your wardrobe! You get to stick to the spring floral trend without stepping too far outside your comfort zone.
One Simple Change: This look can easily work for an internship. Keep the button-up shirt and oxfords the same, but swap the bermuda shorts for a midi skirt or a pair of neutral pants to make it more professional. You can even add a blazer on top for those chilly days.
