As spring rolls around, many flock towards bright colors and florals. In my opinion, these trends are a bit overdone. I still have Miranda Priestly’s iconic grimace and dissent trapped in my mind as she remarked, “Florals? For spring? Groundbreaking.” Still, I must admit that I am biased toward neutral colors, specifically black. So, if you stray from bright colors like me, here is a great outfit for spring.
As we finally emerge from the cold bubble of winter, we are finally able to wear skirts, shorts and dresses again. This Fashionista pairs edgy, dark pieces to create a softer look overall. She rocks a printed black crop top with and a flowy black skirt. She tops it off with a pair of edgy black booties and a black Michael Kors Selma cross-body. She also added a rose gold watch that adds a pop of color to the overall look.
If you shy from wearing all black, try to add more color with accessories. For example, with this look, you could also add a rose gold statement necklace to complement the watch. This would also draw attention to your face and neutralize the overall look.
One Simple Change: This look is great because it could be used for a variety of occasions. Plus, you can mix and match the pieces in this look for more a more casual or dressed up feel. For example, you could swap out the skirt for jeans for a casual dinner or you could add a pair of heels and a red lip for a girl’s night out. This look is also great because it is still soft and feminine besides its edgy, dark pieces.
