Spring is finally here! At last the weather is answering our calls for warmer temperatures. Although, it’s no secret that weather at the University of Delaware is temperamental with a mix of cool, windy days and hot, sunny days. This month’s ensemble has both types of weather covered!
To formulate her spring weather look, this Fashionista put together neutral colored light layers featuring a white lace top, a light tan cardigan, a ribbed two-toned purple scarf, black leggings and rustic boots. Together, these elements are soft, subtle and cool and casual for walking to classes.
The sweater and scarf keep the Fashionista warm for cool temperatures (freezing, air-conditioned classrooms included) and can be removed when the temperature starts to rise. Wearing black leggings also aids this ensemble’s versatility since they are not as hot as jeans, but also won’t leave your legs freezing as shorts would on cool days. The neutral color palette is perfect for the beginning of spring—incorporating two spring 2016 colors from Pantone: iced coffee and lilac gray—which can be seen in the cardigan and scarf. Overall, by including soft textures and colors the outfit carries an air of natural, feminine simplicity that complements the lightheartedness of spring.
One Simple Change: Didn’t think that this outfit had any more uses? Swap the black leggings for your favorite pair of jeans and you’ve got your first look for fall! This ensemble is stylish all year long and is great to wear while restocking your closet for the season’s latest trends.
