Well, it is official; summer is over and school is back in session (pauses to wipe tears away). While school being back in session might mean late night study dates, last minute cramming for tests and doing homework instead of taking naps, it also means football season! Not everyone loves football season, but I think it is safe to say that everyone loves tailgating. People come from near and far to wear an obscene amount of (America’s brightest) orange with cowboy boots and cheer on their favorite team.
This Fashionista is wearing my personal favorite tailgating gear—black with colored accessories. A black dress is the perfect option because it is slimming, does not show sweat and is easy to transition from day to night. Along with her dress, this Fashionista has paired a simple pair of booties. Booties are great for tailgating because they are super cute, comfortable and easy to walk in. We may be in the south, but cowboy boots are not for everyone. Booties are a great alternative if the “cowgirl” look is not exactly your thing.
Complementing this little black dress is the perfect amount of accessories. The stack of bangles and the statement necklace tie the outfit together and bring just the right amount of color to show this Fashionista’s school spirit. On both her bracelet and statement necklace is a tassel. Jewelry with tassels has become a staple in my wardrobe recently. Tassels are fun and fashionable because they add a little bit of something different and chic to a simple necklace or bracelet.
One Simple Change: Want to transition from cheering at the game to celebrating at night with your friends? Simply throw on a pair of black wedges and some lipstick and you’re ready to go!
