WHAT TO WEAR: The Pseudo Fall Effect

There is absolutely nothing like fall. Lattes, pumpkin spice or otherwise, infinite sweaters, boots, scarves and changing leaves, they are the beautiful essentials of what makes fall the best season hands down. But what happens when the weather forgets that the fall equinox has passed, and the temperatures are mirroring summer days and nights? It’s a strange divide. We so desperately want to pull on the flannels and transition out of our shorts and into jeans and leggings, but at what cost? How are we to accomplish great fall style without sweating ourselves to death?

Oddly enough, that has been the case this fall here at Mizzou, where the forecast fluctuates in a way that it’s so random it’s almost a comical guessing game. The temperatures can range in the 80s one day to the 30s the very next. If checking the weather is not apart of your daily routine, then I am sorry. With things definitely veering on the warmer side in mid-October, it’s a challenge to try to create great fall fashion and remain comfortable in the heat. I think this Fashionista did a great job of doing just that.

Though the dress is typically something that would be worn during the summer months, the beautiful shade of orange really resonates with great, traditional colors of fall. The ribbed texture of the dress, like seen in trends in sweaters lately, gives it a pseudo fall feel. Also, she kept the look very cute and very casual with a light, denim shirt and a pair of white Converse. It’s a great substitution that works quite well until fall decides to finally show its face once and for all. Basically, fake it ’til you make it.
