As finals came to an end and it was finally time to head home for the holidays, Rowan students left their stress behind and got ready for a long and much needed winter break. I finally got the chance to go to Philadelphia right before my break started (for the first time in my life)Â to visit a friend, which is ironic because I go to school only thirty minutes from there. I loved that there were college campuses just blocks from each other and the city-feel it gave me as I walked through the streets. The windy chill of winter in Philly brings out so many stylish coats from all the creative people that live there, or even just attend school there.
Sometimes it’s nice to say goodbye to the big and warm puffer jackets that some people say ruin an outfit. A trend I’ve seemed to notice that is emerging all over college campuses is fur coats. They are definitely making a comeback. A fur coat is the focal point of your outfit.
Many people think they can’t pull off the fur jacket, but fortunately, it is easy to dress up or dress down. I’ve seen girls rock them either way, like this Fashionista who caught my eye on the Cira Green rooftop. She kept it casual with a pair of washed and lightly ripped jeans, a basic plain black crop top, thigh-high black boots, and of course, added a huge chunky statement necklace to add to all of the basics, making her look even more glamorous. Adding the fur coat into the mix took her simple outfit to the next level. On the other hand, one may choose to wear their fur jacket over a cocktail dress. Strolling down the streets of Midtown, so many fur coats caught my eye, all styled completely different ways.
So, instead of throwing on a puffer jacket when it gets too cold, get a little more creative and throw on a fur. Outfits like these make it easy and enjoyable to explore a new city!
