The beginning of the semester is upon us, meaning countless readings, online homework assignments and group projects. With all of the stress of starting new classes and remembering how to hold a pencil, I find myself in constant anticipation of the weekend. Then, when the weekend does arrive, I cautiously crawl out from under my covers to venture outside into the winter weather only when absolutely necessary. Dressing for these lazy days of lounging and homework-doing can be a challenge. I want to be comfortable, but also look presentable which, unfortunately, disqualifies my plaid pajama pants.
This Fashionista has perfected the weekend look. I love her combination of black leggings and a crisp, ivory sweater, which are both perfect for a long day spent working on assignments. She dresses up the look with knee-high brown leather boots and a chunky scarf for warmth. Her cropped puffer jacket contrasted with the longer hemline of the sweater creates the element of tailoring in her look. This comfortable, yet cute look works for all varieties of activities and meetings you may have on a Saturday. I like to look at this outfit as the perfect weekend uniform. The versatility of the individual pieces allow for a wide variety of options. Switch to a patterned sweater, change the color of the leggings or choose a different style of boots.
One Simple Change: Swap out the leggings for a pair of skinny jeans or black pants and the scarf for a statement necklace for a night out with the girls. After a hard day of homework, or a tough few hours of watching Netflix on the couch, you can make these few quick changes and be ready for the night!
