Summer is a season a family festivities and outings. These weekend outings often give a boost of nostalgia. You can reminisce the good old days with your cousin Johnny and get your cheeks pinched by Aunt Phillis. Personally, I love family outings because you get to see family members that you don’t always get to see. This is especially relevant for me as I am originally from Michigan and attend college at Kent State University in Ohio.
While family outings can either be loads of fun or really stressful, depending on your family, we can all agree that the most stressful part of the day is deciding what to wear. It should be fashion-forward, but not to the extent that your 80-year-old grandma falls off of her rocker. The weather and what you will be doing always plays a huge role in what to wear for your family weekend.
This Fashionista has the right idea of what to put together for a family weekend. She pairs fashion-forward pieces like scalloped patterned shorts with minimal basics like white Converse and a black T-shirt. She doesn’t forget to accessorize either with a minimal ring, but she does not accessorize too much so grandma doesn’t look twice.
One Simple Change: Take this look from “family friendly” to fantastic! Exchange the Converse for black wedged heels and you and your girls will be ready to hit the town after a day of family shenanigans.
