There is always something new to do in New York City. Whether it’s visiting a new exhibit at the MoMa or Metropolitan Museum of Art or brunching with friends, you never have to repeat the same thing twice. And summer weekends are the perfect time to explore. But with the anticipation of new adventure also comes the excitement of a new day for fashion.
You say mom jeans, but I say trendy. These Gap boyfriend fit jeans are the perfect addition to anyone’s closet. They’re cute and flirty without being tight and uncomfortable. Prior to this summer, I hadn’t worn a pair of jeans in over two years. The first pair of denim I rocked were a pair of boyfriend jeans from American Eagle Outfitters. So if you don’t have a pair of this baggier fit denim, I definitely recommend investing in a pair. I don’t think this style plans to leave us anytime soon.
This Fashionista chose to pair her boyfriend jeans with a simple cropped and sleeveless black top and a dark green cardigan gently draped over her elbows. In this case, her cardigan acts more as an accessory than used to keep her warm. With such neutral colors, denim and black, the green adds a bit of a pop of color.
And speaking of a pop of color, this Fashionista boldly chose to wear a long yellow cross-body bag. The color definitely adds some fun summer dimension to this neutral getup, while also being the perfect size for all her daily essentials!
These Zeena flats from Jessica Simpson are absolutely adorable. This simple suede lace up flat adds the perfect amount of chic and femininity to this outfit. They definitely balance out the relaxed fit of the boyfriend jeans while complimenting the simplicity.
Anyone who knows me knows that I’m a big fan of silver jewelry. I’ve been wearing the same silver four leaf clover around my neck since I was 13 and have no intention of taking it off anytime soon. This Fashionista chose to wear all silver jewelry, with the exception of one black band with a silver charm. From her Alex and Ani charm bracelets, bold silver watch and embellished ring on her middle finger, all of her jewelry was the perfect combination that did not overwhelm her outfit.
And don’t forget about these mirrored aviators by Ray-Ban! I love how summer they are while also providing an edgy aspect to this outfit. Colored and mirrored sunglasses are the absolute best; can’t get much more fun than that!
One Simple Change: There are really not many changes I would make to this outfit; I truly love it just the way it is! But as always, if you want to dress something up, dress it up with heels! A strappy pair of wedges are always a great summer shoe. They’re simple and casual, but sophisticated enough to add just enough to a look!
