WHAT TO WEAR: Weekend Wear

As the school week winds down, Emory students look forward to a weekend of exploring Atlanta. I came across this Fashionista as she was making her way off campus to attend an art festival held in the city. This off campus destination not only comes with a change of scenery, but also with a change of outfit. Weekend outfits don’t have to be the least bit utilitarian since you don’t need an outfit suitable for sitting in class for five hours of the day. Therefore, on weekends I typically ditch the jeans and dress up my look by wearing a skirt just like this Fashionista did.

This Fashionista definitely let her personality shine through in this outfit. Her cute cat ears add a fun element to her look and shows she has a playful personality. She adds a bit of edginess to her look by layering with a leather jacket and pairing it with a pair of patent leather buckle booties. However, the outfit contains enough color to keep this look from creeping into a full on ‘90s teenage angst. The preppy tailoring of her cream pencil skirt balances out the outfit. Additionally, the navy and burgundy from her plaid top wonderfully oppose the black of the jacket and booties.

So if you have a weekend of exploring ahead of you, this Fashionista’s edgy fun look will be perfect for a weekend of fun and adventure!

One Simple Change: Do you have brunch plans this weekend? Lose the leather jacket and add a matching navy felt hat for a perfect classy sunday fun-day attire.
