Personally, I have an extreme love/hate relationship with winter. Now that all of the holiday cheer is behind us, it can be hard to be happy while you’re walking to your 8:00 a.m. class fantasizing about that spring break vacation in the near future. You constantly find yourself imagining all of the new bikinis, sundresses and sandals that will soon be in your possession. But wait, what about your favorite new booties, sweater dress and faux leather pants? In just six weeks you’ll be packing these away until next year, so let’s take a second to remember why the rest of your winter season should be nothing short of fashionable.
The thing I will undeniably miss the most about this winter are the shoes. Collecting boots and booties of all shapes and colors should be considered a talent of mine. I enjoy spending way too much time on the Steve Madden website falling in love with hundreds of pairs of shoes. I’ve learned the hard way that most of the time you can find a very similar shoe for a fraction of the price. This Fashionista agrees and she styles her outfit with some slightly wedged booties from H&M.
Cropped sweaters have also been a favorite of mine this season. Specifically, short sleeved turtlenecks. They are completely versatile and can make a simple outfit so chic. Complete the look with some faux leather pants, a pair of black booties and you’re good to go!
One Simple Change: Want to say hello to spring, but not ready to say goodbye to your beloved ankle boots? Don’t worry, you don’t have to! Just pair them with a colorful skirt or pair of flowy pants to get just the right mix of girly and edgy.
