Way before “functional fashion” was a thing, a girl’s handbag has been the ultimate utilitarian piece. How else would we carry our wallet, phone, keys, 27 lip colors and a forgotten granola bar? (At least this is how I justify a “need” for adding another handbag into my ever-growing collection.)
I don’t know what it is, but I just love purses. From clutches to backpacks; micros to oversized; black leather to animal print; when it comes to a carryall, I don’t discriminate. I can seriously wear a white T-shirt and jeans every day and be totally cool with that. But just the thought of packing one handbag for a weekend trip literally makes my break out in hives.
As if I needed a reason to continue talking about purses, today is National Handbag Day. Today is your chance to celebrate your own collection, compliment your friend’s cross-body and ogle over the lust-worthy designer satchels you dream about. Or maybe today is that excuse you need to “press” purchase on that tote you have been eyeing. Whatever you do, we know this is one holiday you have got in the bag—literally.
